Vaccination for children may act as a big boost to India's Vaccination drive - Pralipta

Sarmin Khatun, Kolkata, 25th July 2021: In India, the coronavirus vaccination program began in January and has since administered over 42 crores doses. Since then, the schools in India have been shut to contain the spread of coronavirus, that was imposed in March, last year.

Even though more than 24% of Indians have received at least one vaccine shot, just about 6.5% has been fully inoculated yet.Meanwhile about 67% of the country's population have developed antibodies against the coronavirus according to the findings of fourth National Serological survey, released earlier this week. India will likely have its first coronavirus vaccine for children by September as said by Dr. Randeep Guleria, the chief of Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The start of vaccination for the children will act as a big boost as far as breaking the chain of transmission is concerned. We are hopefully waiting for the quick arrival of the month of September.
